Text Messaging

Last updated September 24, 2026

Customers of plumbing companies that use Orshi receive text messages only after agreeing to them. This page shows exactly how that happens, in the words the product sends.

How a conversation starts

A conversation starts when the customer texts the plumbing company's phone number.

It can also start in the chat on the company's own website, where the company has put one there. The chat asks the same question in the same words, and a phone number given there after YES is sent the same confirmation as a text message: right away during the day, or in the morning if it was given at night.

The company introduces itself and asks for the customer's consent before any details are taken.

The consent question

This is the question, word for word as the product sends it:

Before we start: we keep the details you give us -- your name, number and address -- to do the work, and we may text you about it. We never sell them.

Is that okay? Reply YES to carry on, or NO and we will take your details over the phone instead.

If the customer replies YES, their agreement is recorded with the date, the time and the exact words they were shown. They are sent this message right away, and the conversation carries on to arrange the visit:

Riverside Plumbing will text you about your own job only; how many depends on the work. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop, HELP for help.

If the customer replies NO, the refusal is recorded the same way, no details are taken, and the conversation ends with this reply:

No problem at all. Call us at (312) 555-0100 and we will take it down over the phone.

This is the wording every company starts with. The company's own name and phone number are filled in.

Customer

Hi, my kitchen sink is leaking under the cabinet. Can someone come out?

Riverside Plumbing

Hello from Riverside Plumbing. I can get a plumber out to you -- it takes about a minute.

Stopping messages, and getting help

A customer can stop all messages at any time by replying with any one of these words on its own:

One reply comes back confirming it, and nothing is sent after that.

When the whole message is exactly one of these words, that reply comes from our text messaging provider, which records the opt-out itself as the message arrives. The wording is the provider's own, so it is not shown here:

For these words, and for a stop word written any other way, such as with a full stop after it, the plumbing company sends the reply itself: in Spanish for a Spanish word, and otherwise in the language it writes to that customer in. This is its wording, with the company's own name and phone number filled in:

You will not get any more text messages from Riverside Plumbing. Reply START if you want them again. If you meant to cancel a visit, please call (312) 555-0100 -- your appointment has not been changed.

Replying with one of these turns messages back on:

Replying HELP returns the company's name and a number that reaches its team:

Riverside Plumbing. For help, call (312) 555-0100 to reach our team. Reply STOP to stop these text messages.

Message and data rates may apply.

Message frequency varies by job.
